The nomination comes on the heels of LDC’s successful crowdfunding round which raised over £825k – making LDC the first ever private GP practice to successfully crowd fund. The investment will allow LDC to extend our reach to eight locations, up from just two a year ago, when Oakfield Capital invested to grow the chain to six.
The other City AM nominees are Ismail Ahmed (WorldRemit), Leanne Kemp (Everledger), Kavi and Shamil Thakrar (Dishoom), and Angus Thirlwell (Hotel Chocolat). While the competition is certainly steep, the winner joins the likes of Spotify’s Daniel Ek and Zoopla’s Alex Chesterman just to name a couple previous winners.
City AM sat down with Dr Seth Rankin in the middle of LDC’s rapid expansion a few months ago just after LDC had opened their Kings Cross Clinic to talk about the concept, the need for accessible and affordable Private GP appointments in London, and where Dr Rankin found his inspiration.
That article can be found here, though there are a few quick highlights on what has changed since then:
- 8 Clinic Locations (The newest being our Fleet Street Clinic which opens next week)
- Treated 7,760 patients (2,500 had been seen at the time of that June article)
- Expanded to over 40 employees (with 3 being added this week alone!)
And we are still just £55 for 15 minutes, for same day or future appointments. Book online or by phone, right up until the last minute. Blood tests, medications, sporting medicals to go skydiving, or any other GP Service.
Do. Life. Well.
