Dr Clare Thompson

Dr Clare Thompson qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2005 and went on to complete her Family Medicine Training in 2011. She is also board certified in Canada and holds the LMCC qualification. During her post graduate training she gained her Diploma in Child Health and Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists. In 2013 she worked for Night Doctor, which is a private Doctors visiting service, covering central London and The Portland Hospital. She became an Associate at The Courtfield Private Practice in South Kensington in 2014, which is the busiest private family doctor seeing children in Central London 

 

Dr Thompson’s main area of special interest is Paediatrics and Women’s Health. She has written regular features for MyBaba, Mother and Baby Magazine, Smallish Magazine, The Huffington Post and has a regular feature in the U.S based publication The Tot. In April 2016 she spent a month in Benin, West Africa, working for a children’s charity to help deliver medical and nutritional care to malnourished babies and plans to return to other areas of Africa where medical help is needed most. 

 

Outside of work she plays and performs Piano to a professional level. Dr Thompson is also a keen athlete and recently medalled for Great Britain in a 250 km foot race across the Atacama Desert in Chile. Her past races also include the 250 km self-supported Marathon des Sables across the Sahara Desert in Africa in 2014 and her next planned running expedition will be across China in June 2017. She was featured in the January 2016 issue of British Vogue talking about extreme sports and fitness.
