Your weight loss journey: step by step
Initial GP assessment – £180
Your journey begins with a 30-minute consultation with an experienced GP. We’ll review your medical history, discuss your weight loss goals, assess your suitability for treatment and arrange your required blood tests. Please note this will be an additional charge of £125.
If weight loss medication is clinically appropriate, your GP will recommend the most suitable treatment and create a personalised management plan.
Monthly GP reviews – £99
You’ll have regular 15-minute GP reviews throughout the programme to monitor your progress, assess how you’re responding to treatment, manage any side effects, issue repeat prescriptions and make any necessary dose adjustments.
Nutrition and lifestyle support – £55
Alongside your GP reviews, you’ll receive dedicated support from our trained Health Advisors in months 1, 3 and 5. These sessions are a mandatory part of your treatment journey and include nutritional guidance, behavioural coaching, lifestyle advice and goal setting to help you build sustainable habits that support long-term weight loss success.
Six-month GP review – £180
At the end of the programme, you’ll meet with your GP to review your progress, repeat blood tests to help assess your ongoing health and discuss treatment outcomes and next steps. Please note the blood tests will be an additional charge of £125.
Which weight loss medications are available?
As part of our GP-led Weight Loss Programme, patients may be prescribed weight loss injections where clinically appropriate. Treatment options may include tirzepatide.
Before treatment begins, your GP will assess your BMI, medical history and overall health to ensure medication is safe and suitable for you. If prescribed, a digital prescription will be issued for you to obtain medication from a pharmacy of your choice. London Doctors Clinic does not dispense or directly supply weight loss medication.
Our experienced GPs will work closely with you throughout your journey, helping to manage any side effects and ensure your treatment remains safe and effective.
What is a healthy weight?
BMI (Body Mass Index) is a measure that uses your height and weight to assess whether your weight falls within a healthy range.
Underweight: BMI of 18.4 or less
Healthy Weight: BMI between 18.5 – 24.9
Overweight: BMI between 25 – 30
Obese: BMI of 30 or above
Maintaining a healthy BMI can help reduce your risk of a range of health conditions, including type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.
Am I eligible for the weight loss programme?
You may be eligible for the programme if you:
- Are aged 18 years or over
- Have a BMI of 30 or above
- Have a BMI of 27 or above and a weight-related health condition
Examples of weight-related health conditions include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnoea, insulin resistance, prediabetes and joint pain.
Your GP will confirm whether the programme is suitable for you after reviewing your medical history, current health, medication, risks and treatment goals.
Certain medical conditions and life stages may affect your eligibility for treatment. This can include a history of pancreatitis, significant gastrointestinal disease, active gallbladder disease, type 1 diabetes, pregnancy, breastfeeding, planning pregnancy, or a personal or family history of certain thyroid cancers. Your GP will discuss this with you and advise on the safest pathway.
