Anger Awareness Week
Anger Awareness Week seeks to address how anger can be a disruptive force both in terms of your society and health. Anger is triggered through the body’s fight or flight response and activates adrenal glands that release hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol.
Long term anger issues can cause a number of health issues. The constant influx of stress chemicals and metabolic changes can damage different systems in the body.
Here are some of the issues that unmanaged anger can cause.
- High blood pressure
- Increase risk of Heart attacks
- Skin problems
- Digestion problems
It is noted that 1/10 people say that they have trouble controlling their anger and almost a third of people polled say that someone in their social circle has trouble controlling their anger. More worryingly, 58% of people do not know where to go if they have trouble with their anger. At London Doctors Clinic, we are always happy to see a patient about their anger and ways that they can manage their anger. Your health should always come first, so make sure that unmanaged anger does hurt your wellbeing.
